Q: What Body Areas Can I Get Treated?
Any area, except around the eyes.
The underarms, legs, back, bikini line, face, neck, etc., can all be treated... fast!
Q: What Are the Treatment Sessions Like?
Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move a wand-like handpiece over your skin. The handpiece emits a light that disables the hair follicles. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation. Once this is completed, the treatment provider will wipe away any loose hair from your skin, and you are ready to go.
Q: What Should Most People Expect After Treatment?
Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary. Your treatment provider will explain other, less likely side effects to you.
Q: What Does It Feel Like?
Each pulse, which lasts less than a second, produces a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a quick, light pinch.
Q: Is It Suitable For Everyone?
The Palomar Medilux System enables our technicians to customize the treatment to exactly match your hair and skin color and type. As long as there is some color in your hair (even blond hair has enough color), then the Medilux will be effective.
Q: Is Hair Removal Temporary or Permanent? How Many Treatments Will It Take?
Hair removal is both temporary and permanent. During a short series of treatments 6-8 weeks apart, patients will rarely have to shave, tweeze, or pluck. However, if the treatments stop, some of the hair will return in a few months which will be finer and lighter than before. The more treatments, the less hair will ultimately come back.
Q: What Can I Expect After A Treatment?
Patients can continue on with normal daily routines immediately following treatment, but do need to keep the treated areas out of the sun. Some redness may be existent, but should only last several hours, or occasionally up to a couple days. This is easily camouflaged by clothing or makeup. |
